The Woltmann Brothers Story

The Woltmann Brothers grew up in Southeastern MN spending as much time in the outdoors as possible. Naturally that includes fishing in the driftless for trout and all the other fish that swim. With most free time being spent covering countless miles of rivers in search of the driftless gems we all love, trout! After graduating high school Joshua and Josiah Woltmann found themselves in Alaska working for a fishing lodge on the world renowned Naknek River. What started as just a way to get to Alaska by any means necessary, turned into a passion for guiding fellow anglers to success on the water. With now over 6 years spent in the industry guiding some of Alaska’s most pristine and difficult rivers, we are trying to continue the dream on our beautiful home waters of the MN Driftless.

What We Offer

As of the moment Woltmann Outdoors is still spending the summers fishing the pristine waters of Alaska from June to October. This still leaves spring and fall to book your guided trip in the MN Driftless, which can offer the best fishing seen all year.

Woltmann Outdoors strives to offer fun, safe, worry-free adventures. With countless hours spent on the water with a fly rod in hand our knowledge comes firsthand and stays current. Whether you are looking for hands on casting pointers or just want to have relaxing day of fishing checking out some new water we have you covered.

• Walk-in Trips: Our walk-in trips are a popular choice for beginners, without ores in hand your guide can be much more focused on you as an angler.
• Float Trips: Although it is the main focus float trips can be much more than just a fishing trip. Leisurely floating down more than 5 miles of beautiful stream can produce amazing wildlife sighting opportunities, as well as unpressured larger fish.
• Expert Advice: With uncountable hours spent on the water and miles covered, we are confident we can provide useful knowledge that will not only help you catch more fish but could also improve you as an angler altogether!
